Mempelajari metabolisme sel tidak hanya memberikan pemahaman tentang proses biologis dasar, tetapi juga membuka pintu untuk aplikasi praktis dalam berbagai bidang, termasuk kesehatan, ilmu pangan, dan teknologi. Setelah mendapatkan pembelajaran pada konsep metabolisme melalui IDTm mahasiswa dapat mengembangakan Kebiasan berpikir (Habits of mind) diantaranya berpikir kritis, kreatif dan regulasi diri pada pembelajaran biologi sel khususnya materi metabolisme.
